Worked for me on my 5440-CN!
The Remote Connect and Quick Dial did not show up until I selected the USB printer, just like you said.

first i had to download all the Brother Mac OSX printer software and installed it from website plus i installed the Brother Mac OSX Disc came with printer on the DVD drive. Need to Restart computer and i turned off and on the printer. Next, went to main Library (not user Library) scrolled to printer folder, to Brother folder to Utilities folder. Clicked on Control Center App adjusted settings to my preferences. Clicked Device Selector App for USB connection Clicked Remote Setup App for my Quick Dial Fax settings. Have not tried using Server App.

actually, i found the control center app but it doesn't appear to work. I starts up automatically when I restart the machine (there is a splash screen) but that's it.

Second - i tried your trick but it doesn't work for me.

Hi there,

Just wondering if you could elaborate on what you meant by "control center applet"

..."From there, I could now scan through the control center applet"

I don't seem to have this applet and haven't been able to find it on the net.

Cheers,

D
